Dubai Expands Approved Eye Test Centres, Making Driving Licence Renewal Faster

Dubai: Motorists in Dubai can now renew their driving licences more quickly and conveniently after the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) expanded its network of approved eye test centres by 30 per cent.

The expansion is aimed at improving customer experience by making mandatory vision tests more accessible across the emirate. With a larger network of authorised centres, residents can complete one of the key licence renewal requirements closer to home or work, reducing travel time and speeding up the renewal process.

The RTA said the initiative forms part of its ongoing efforts to enhance digital and smart government services while improving the efficiency of customer transactions.

Approved eye test centres are electronically linked to the RTA's licensing system, allowing test results to be transmitted directly to the authority. This eliminates the need for customers to submit paper reports and enables a smoother, fully integrated renewal process.

Once the eye test has been completed at an authorised centre, eligible motorists can renew their driving licences through the RTA's digital platforms without additional paperwork, provided all other renewal requirements have been met.

The expanded network is expected to benefit thousands of residents by offering more locations and shorter waiting times, particularly during peak renewal periods.

The RTA continues to encourage customers to use its smart channels for driving licence renewals and other licensing services, supporting Dubai's broader vision of delivering seamless, customer-centric government services.
